Undernet InformationNick Registration:Undernet does not offer nick registration. Nick names are on a first come, first served basis. Nick length is limited to 12 characters.Username Registration:Undernet does offer username registration. Registering a username allows you to login to X (the Undernet service bot).To register a username, go to http://cservice.undernet.org/live and look for the link to register. Unfortunately, Undernet will not accept a free-e-mail address for registration. Your address must be one that is attached to your ISP (internet service provider).You will want a username if you intend to be an op in a registered channel, start a channel of your own, support someone else's new channel or hide your address (mode +x). Some channels may be set +r (restricted access) and will only allow users who have logged into X to join. Having a username will also allow you to login to Cservice's website.Undernet only allows one username per person, and if you are caught having more than one, you risk being kept from Undernet, entirely.Once you have obtained a username, you can perform the following:
Channel Registration:Undernet allows channel registration to established channels. In order to apply for channel registration, you should have an already-established channel with a moderate amount of traffic. You will need ten, registered supporters.In order to submit an application for your new channel, go to http://cservice.undernet.org/live/ . It takes approximately 7 to 14 days to find out if your channel has been approved. During that time, other users are allowed to object to the registration of your channel. You can go to the registration site and click on "Check App" to see the status of your application.
